About Me

In addition to being an amazing wife, a top-noch mom of 4 crazy kids, and a wanna-be farmer, I dabble in writing from time to time.  My writing has been featured publications such as Her View From Home, The Huffington Post, and ScaryMommy, to name a few.

Here are some things I’d love for you to know about me:

1. I am a teacher a heart.

I will always love teaching, even if I am not currently in the classroom.  It is the noblest of professions and my years spent as a teacher are some of the most precious memories I have.

2.  I hate to fly.

I absolutely hate to fly.  I only do it because it allows me to see the world.  But any movement the plane makes prompts me to start praying.  I am convinced God loves it when I fly because that’s when I tend to pray the most!

3. I’ve always been a writer.

Journaling, grocery lists, blogging, poetry, the never ending “Honey Do List”, writing a book… what’s the difference? I’ve loved writing for as  long as I can remember.  It’s always been a passion of mine.  I wish I had more time to do it.

4.  I love to read.

Though nowadays I may only get through the first 2 sentences of a book because I pass out from utter exhaustion, I have always been a reader.  I am convinced my family does not like it when I start a new book because I try to tune them out, and may or may not lock myself in the bathroom, so I can read.

5.  Don’t ask me about the latest shows or  movies… I have no idea.

I am the worst person to watch shows or movies… with 4 kids my screen knowledge consists of Mickey Mouse, Ultimate Beast Master, Octonauts and VeggieTales.  Outside of this realm my knowledge is very limited.
